What is Drop N Tell? If you’ve ever been concerned about the safety of your cargo during shipment, then it’s time to take a minute and learn more about Drop N Tell. With a history going back 50 years, Index Packaging has produced thousands of Drop N Tells that have helped improve the safety of shipments by preventing broken items from happening in transit. Now that we know what they are, let’s go over how to use them!

What Is Drop N Tell

Drop N Tell is one of the shock indicators. When Drop n Tell indicator is used with other specialized packaging, when the cargo is impacted or vibrated by external forces, the arrow shape of “>” in the middle change from red to blue and it reminds that this package has been shipped.

It will remind consignee or handler if there are any problems with loading/unloading process during shipping time. It can also help for insurance claim as well as customs inspection because they would know what kind problem occurred on a shipment without opening up each individual parcel in detail. The most common causes of shocks are: dropping, impacts, vibration’s and sudden movement such as slamming doors around packages etc.

The Product’s Benefits

Drop N Tell is used to affix to the outer carton of the package. When the cargo is impacted or vibrated by external forces, its arrow shape changes from red to blue and then back again when there’s no impact. The sensor can be seen in any orientation so long as it has been mounted correctly with the arrow pointing up towards a 90 degree angle relative to gravity.

You should place Drop N Tell on top of where you would like vibration feedback if your product needs an indicator for that purpose (e.g., electronics). If not, simply mount it near one edge of your product and have someone hold onto the other end while testing every inch of your product for vibrations. Once you find a spot where the sensor is vibrating, mark it and then mount Drop N Tell on that side.

Drop N Tell is an impact indicator for packages during transport or storage to notify handlers of damage. It’s designed to make sure your package doesn’t get re-injured by having its contents fall out after they’ve been shipped in good condition.

How to Use the Product

1. To protect your cargo from the elements, tear off the back adhesive and do not shake before applying it on any corners that were impacted most by dirt or dust during transport.

2. The placement of this product is close to where you can find impact points like a corner closest to an object in transit (like another vehicle). You need also place them at bottoms of walls so no moisture gets inside as well as near doors/windows for better protection against rain and wind damage when they’re open..

3. Pull off the iron strip after installation!

Drop N Tell is a product with two types: resettable and unresettable. Unesettable DropNTell are one-time products that cannot be restarted once the impact sensor has been used, but they can last up to 30 uses before getting tossed out for good! The other type of drop detector—the “Resetble” variety—can be reset after use using a special tool (which we thankfully have on hand in stock!), which means you could get about 40 more drops from it while working hard at your job site.

Both varieties support six different G levels of force detection when an object falls onto them–5G, 10G, 15G 25G 50g or 100 g!
